What can our local Christian Community do to be a more effective witness for Christ in our community

https://www.christianleadersinstitute.org

The best way I know to offer these suggestions, is to form a list.

There are soooo many ways a community can help locally.

Witness by being an example of Jesus love for us- to others.

Witness by not just reading the Word.. But by tasting, living, breathing it until it is

sustaining you.

Witness by giving of our times, tithes and gifts. ( and share a prayer or scripture card.)

We as a community can pray for God to share His gifts with us as we need them and to use the gifts we are blessed with in service to others.. Music, Reading, Cooking, Childcare, Listening, Holding a hand, Caregiving, and the fruits of the spirit showing through us in our gifts - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

We are the only image of Christ that some may ever see.. Let's be a living witness.

Witness by reading a memorized verse to someone who is sick, or sad, or needing hope.

Witness by giving of our time to the lonely.

Witness by giving a caregiver a day off .

Witness by babysitting so a mom and dad can go to counseling with the pastor.

As a community- shovel out the driveways of a neighborhood you know is mostly elderly.

As a community:

Make and distribute sack lunches for the homeless where you know they are. ( In doing this- coordinate with local authorities- they will provide protection as well as letting you know of some that need it.)

Have a fellowship time to crochet blankets and bring them to the local nursing home

Offer special music at nuring homes, offer prayer times with families there.

Pray as a community of believers for a special cause..ie....for nurses, for MS walk etc.

Be a fundraising team for a special organization like cancer or ms or alzheimer's awareness.

Just be Christ to them. We are his only hands here on earth and He can use us for his good works.
